Windy day warm up.
by Joanne Ackerman

On a very cold windy Sunday in Wasilla, AK my friends and I were out Geocaching which is a game that uses the internet and a GPS to look for hidden objects which are called caches around the world. Well the cache we were looking for was on an island in the middle of a frozen lake in Wasilla. Our group was just about to head into the gusty wind for about a quarter mile walk to the cache when a gentleman approached. His other truck was stuck in the snow by his house on the lake. We offered to help him get his truck out if he drove us across the lake. We helped him get his truck out and he drove us to near our cache. But the amazing thing he did was to invite us, total strangers, back to his house for a cup of coffee and some warmth. He was such a gracious host and his name is Rick Mystrom whom we all knew because we are all from Anchorage. We all want to thank him for giving us the opportunity to warm up and spend some time with him. Oh, and lest I forget then he drove us back to our cars. We will all certainly not forget your generosity to us.

Keep on Keepin' on
